Synopsis

This is a notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) for the BJA FY 2026 Enhancing Security Measures for Houses of Worship Program. This opportunity provides grants to enhance security and law enforcement capabilities at faith-based institutions and houses of worship to prevent and respond to bias-motivated crimes. Projects will strengthen partnerships between religious communities and local law enforcement, implement evidence-based security measures, and build institutional capacity to report incidents and assist in criminal investigations.

Eligible Applicants	City or township governments, Special district governments, State governments, Others (see text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility" for clarification), Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized), County governments, Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
Additional Info on Eligibility:	For Category 1 - Faith-based Organizations: Religious organizations, faith-based nonprofits, and organizations with religious charters, names, or missions. For Category 2 - Other Units of Local Government: For the purposes of this notice of funding opportunity, other units of local government include towns, boroughs, parishes, villages, or other general purpose political subdivisions of a state.
